New premises opened in 2019
For those of you who have recently found us, we would like to extend a very warm welcome.
We hope you and your pet find what you are looking for here at Primrose Hill. Our new facility is much bigger than our original location on Tivoli Road. We now have three consulting rooms, extensive laboratory facilities, X-ray suite, two operating theatres, one of which is a dedicated Ophthalmology theatre.
You may or may not be aware that we are also a centre of excellence in the field of Ophthalmology, with clients referred to us from all over Ireland.
Daily, we perform delicate high-tech procedures such as cataract removal and lens implants thus restoring precious sight to many blind animals. In our air-conditioned reception area, we provide spacious and comfortable seating, also a dedicated cat ‘Snug’, should you wish to wait apart from the main waiting area.
Our state-of-the-art hospital area offers separate wards for cats and dogs, with the use of cat calming pheromones when possible. We have a highly skilled and qualified team of Veterinary Healthcare Professionals in every area of our hospital.
We are committed to providing your pet with the most up-to-date treatments and are always keen to explore the latest developments within our profession.
Primrose Hill Hospital history
Primrose Hill Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1994 by Mike and Deirdre Woods.
Mike is the Principal Veterinary Surgeon; he holds a certificate in veterinary ophthalmology and offers a referral ophthalmology service nationwide.
Mike began his veterinary career in 1984 in the west of Ireland.
He later moved to the UK working mainly in the west of England, during this time he studied for his certificate in veterinary ophthalmology.
In 1994 Mike and Deirdre returned to Ireland and set up Primrose Hill Veterinary Hospital.
The practice was on Tivoli Road for 25 years and moved to its new premises in Church Place Sallynoggin in June 2019.
The move has provided us with much needed space for both our patients and staff.
